Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing technical team in China, fostering technical excellence and customer focus.
- Support the Alibaba Cloud and ClickHouse partnership through integration, optimization, and go-to-market strategies.
- Lead enterprise customer proofs of concept from architecture design through production deployment.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Design PB-scale, real-time data warehouse architectures for mission-critical workloads.
- Partner with global Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to represent customer needs and drive product innovation.
- Represent ClickHouse at technical conferences, meetups, and community events in China.
Requirements
- Fluent English and Mandarin.
- Excellent customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
- Deep expertise in database internals, query optimization, distributed systems, and OLAP technologies.
- Strong architecture design capabilities for large-scale, mission-critical data platforms.
- Hands-on experience building and operating PB-scale, real-time data warehouse production systems.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture and infrastructure, including hands-on knowledge of at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, or Alibaba Cloud.
- Experience managing technical teams of 10 or more engineers.
- 8+ years of experience with database, data warehouse, or big data technologies.
- High ownership, accountability, and comfort working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Impact-oriented, innovative mindset.
Nice to Haves
- Contributions to the ClickHouse community through code, documentation, or advocacy.
- Experience with columnar databases such as ClickHouse, Druid, or Pinot and real-time analytics systems.
- Practical Kubernetes experience deploying and managing stateful applications at scale.
- Data engineering experience with ETL pipelines, data replication, change data capture, and streaming platforms.
- Technical writing or speaking experience, including blogs, conference presentations, or technical documentation.
- Open-source contributions in database or cloud-native ecosystems.
- Experience debugging complex production issues.
