Product Designer, GenUI
Leads the design foundations and framework for generative UI across ChatGPT, translating design judgment into reusable patterns, model-training materials, and evaluation workflows. The role requires deep product or design-systems experience, exceptional craft, and expertise in interaction, responsive, and accessible design.

Responsibilities
- Define a high standard for craft and taste, translating it into principles and examples that influence products, model training, and evaluation.
- Own and evolve generative UI foundations, including typography, sizing, spacing, layout, motion, accessibility, and responsive behavior.
- Establish a shared source of truth across platforms and improve systems connecting tokens, components, patterns, widgets, learning blocks, and app-like experiences.
- Build a comprehensive GenUI design framework with guidance on when and how models and product teams should use interface patterns.
- Translate design judgment into training material and use prototyping and evaluation workflows to test generated interfaces, identify recurring issues, and improve model behavior.
- Study emergent model behavior and turn promising outputs into reusable, documented patterns.
- Partner with research, engineering, product, and design to evolve the system, its technical architecture, and the model’s ability to use it.
- Help shape generative experiences such as shopping, learning, and advanced reasoning while strengthening the shared GenUI framework.
Requirements
- Exceptional craft standards and sophisticated design taste.
- Ability to make design judgment explicit, teachable, and useful as model-training and evaluation input.
- Deep experience designing and evolving product or design systems at scale.
- Strong command of typography, layout, spacing, responsive behavior, accessibility, and interaction design.
- Ability to move between foundational systems work and high-craft product experiences.
- Ability to define clear defaults and explain when and why models or product teams should choose particular patterns.
- Skill in turning ambiguous or inconsistent work into a coherent, extensible system.
- Curiosity about model training, evaluation, emergent behavior, and product design as useful data.
