Senior Data Engineer, Sentinel (Pacific Time Zone)

Responsibilities

  • Build, operate, and improve cloud infrastructure (AWS) based on customer requirements for 150+ client organizations
  • Design, architect, and implement systems supporting data processing tasks (metadata, configuration, data pipeline inputs)
  • Develop and contribute to monitoring and alerting systems for Platform infrastructure
  • Harden infrastructure security including network, storage, and user access
  • Respond to and resolve customer-reported issues in a timely manner
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Lead development of improvements to data infrastructure, pipeline automation, codebase quality, and data quality
  • Participate in development, execution, and support of new feature rollouts with solution architects, forward-deployed engineers, and customer success teams
  • Spearhead adoption of AI-driven development workflows, integrating LLM-based tools into the SDLC

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python with deep technical troubleshooting skills and extensive experience building backend APIs and microservices
  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS core services and ability to architect scalable solutions from high-level requirements
  • Proficiency in Terraform/Scalr and experience building robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (subnets, CIDR, VPCs) for secure, global application accessibility
  • Knowledge of big-data tools and workflow orchestrators such as Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, Temporal
  • Ability to leverage AI tools (Gemini, ChatGPT, Cursor) to streamline engineering workflows and enhance productivity
  • Proactive team player with excellent cross-team communication skills and proven track record of driving complex projects to completion

  • Experience with data privacy concerns such as HIPAA or GDPR
  • Experience working with cross-functional and customer-facing teams
