Responsibilities

  • Direct manufacturing quality operations across multiple production facilities, including inspection standards, acceptance criteria, containment, staffing, and quality-system scalability.
  • Lead mechanical quality assurance for fabrication, structural assemblies, sheet metal, welding, dimensional inspection, GD&T, coatings, fastening, torque control, and enclosure assembly.
  • Lead electrical quality assurance for switchgear, switchboards, breakers, cabinets, busbars, industrial controls, wiring, harnesses, and electrical safety testing.
  • Ensure compliance and traceability for UL 891, UL 508, NRTL, NETA ATS-2025, customer, regulatory, and product-certification requirements.
  • Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing and Factory Witness Testing, including readiness reviews, procedures, calibration, traceability, defect resolution, and witness inspections.
  • Maintain inspection protocols and acceptance criteria through product and BOM changes.
  • Implement PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, SPC, MSA/Gage R&R, poka-yoke, standardized work, FAI, and layered audits.
  • Maintain audit readiness for internal, customer, ISO 9001, and certification audits; manage records and corrective actions.
  • Lead CAPA, NCR, RCA, 8D, SCAR, containment, deviation management, and effectiveness verification.
  • Establish cross-site dashboards for yield, defects, NCRs, rework, scrap, escapes, COPQ, testing performance, and audit findings.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, NPI, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Procurement on DFM, CTQs, GD&T, change control, supplier qualification, and risk escalation.
  • Build and lead multi-site Quality teams, including staffing, competency development, cross-training, career paths, and technical subject-matter expertise.
  • Travel approximately 30%–40% among manufacturing facilities, vendor sites, and client locations.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing quality, quality engineering, quality assurance, electrical quality, mechanical quality, or related disciplines.
  • Significant experience leading Quality organizations in complex manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated people-management experience across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience supporting both electrical hardware and mechanical hardware, including switchboards, switchgear, breakers, industrial controls, sheet metal, structural welding, enclosures, and coatings.
  • Strong experience with FAT, FWT, hi-pot, dielectric, continuity, IQC, IPQC, and OQC testing and inspection.
  • Working knowledge of UL compliance and certification requirements.
  • Experience working with auditors, certification bodies, customers, and regulatory organizations.
  • Experience overseeing welding processes and Certified Welding Inspector requirements.
  • Strong manufacturing-process controls, quality data analysis, QMS, audit, and corrective-action expertise.
