Responsibilities
Partner with product managers and engineering leads to frame questions, define analytical requirements, and deliver insights that shape roadmap and investment decisions.
Build cohort, funnel, and user journey analyses explaining customer adoption, friction points, and retention.
Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering to ensure data quality, consistency, and documentation across datasets.
Define and maintain north star and product health metrics, including activation, engagement, and retention measures.
Develop and maintain dashboards and self-service analytics for product performance visibility.
Communicate findings and data-backed recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
Manage ad hoc and planned analytical work while balancing competing priorities and communicating timelines.
Improve analytical workflows, data models, and reporting standards.
Requirements
Based in San Francisco; the team works from the San Francisco office 2–3 times per week.
Ability to work an early schedule, beginning around 5 a.m., to overlap with European partners.
4+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a highly analytical role.
Hands-on experience with product usage data, behavioral analytics, or event-level data at a SaaS company.
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling.
Ability to derive insights from complex datasets and translate them into visualizations and dashboards.
Familiarity with semantic-layer BI tools such as Omni and Looker.
Familiarity with modern data-stack tools such as dbt and Google BigQuery.
Familiarity with event instrumentation platforms and CDPs such as RudderStack and Segment.
Knowledge of cohort analysis, funnel and journey analysis, retention curves, and product metrics.
Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and drive analytical work end to end.
Excellent communication skills, including presenting complex findings to non-technical audiences.
Ability to navigate competing stakeholder priorities and drive cross-functional alignment.
