Engineering Manager, Blockchain

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing Blockchain Integrations team responsible for secure, scalable interaction with blockchain networks and assets, powering custody, staking, governance, and on-chain functionality.
• Hire and develop exceptional engineers, partner with cross-functional leaders, and translate roadmap into reliable, scalable systems.
• Refine engineering roadmap, drive operational excellence, create technology strategy.
• Mentor and coach team members, prioritize their health, happiness, and professional progression.
• Work with Product Managers to align product plans with team bandwidth and technical realities.
• Collaborate with other engineering managers, product, recruiting for team growth, retention, and hiring.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, and growing a geographically distributed team.
• Real-world experience building complex distributed systems (primarily Go; languages can be learned).
• Expertise in engineering and management skills, computer science fundamentals (concurrency, algorithms, data structures).
• Enjoy building and supporting services long-term, care about code quality and test infrastructure.
• Prioritize end-user experience and business value.
• Self-describe as creative, humble, ambitious, detail-oriented, hard-working, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action-oriented, tenacious.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with applied cryptography.
• Background where "crypto" means cryptography, not cryptocurrency.
• Read blockchain protocol white papers, stay updated on cryptoasset innovations.
• Finance industry background.
• Professional experience with Go, Rust, TypeScript, Solidity.
• Familiarity with optimistic & zero-knowledge tech.
