Responsibilities
- Build scalable and reliable backend services, webhooks, and public-facing APIs.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code to process and evaluate data signals in real time, solving complex problems at scale.
- Own medium-sized technical projects and translate requirements and constraints into reliable, secure, and explainable system architectures.
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation, debugging, operating, and maintaining high-visibility systems using established runbooks and best practices.
- Work directly with product teams to understand user pain points, build effective solutions, and inform the team roadmap.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 3 years of related Software Engineering experience; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent plus 5 years of progressive post-bachelor’s related experience.
- 3 years of experience with Java, Ruby, Python, and Go.
- 3 years of experience building scalable backend services, webhooks, and public-facing APIs.
- 3 years of experience designing, building, and deploying distributed backend services in production, including concurrency, fault tolerance, and service reliability at scale.
- 3 years of experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL or NoSQL data stores, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling for high-throughput workloads.
- 3 years of experience with stream processing or event-driven architectures using Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent technologies.
- 3 years of experience translating product and engineering requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable system designs, including service boundaries, failure modes, and observability strategies.
- 3 years of experience building automated systems or tooling to instrument, measure, and evaluate digital product customer experiences, including test automation frameworks, signal collection pipelines, or quality evaluation workflows.
- 3 years of experience developing interactive frontend components, dashboards, or data reports with React and D3.js.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary range: $235,090–$285,600.
- Additional compensation may include equity, company bonuses, or sales commissions/bonuses.
- Benefits may include a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and wellness stipends.
- 40 hours per week.
- 50% telecommuting permitted.
