Software Engineer - Internal Tools

Responsibilities

  • Build AI-enabled tools and agents that automate manual work across engineering, support, and operations.
  • Write bots and integrations for Slack, PagerDuty, and other business systems.
  • Build internal dashboards that provide visibility into operational and service-quality metrics.
  • Integrate LLM APIs and AI coding tools into internal systems.
  • Automate incident response, customer support workflows, onboarding, and other repetitive processes.
  • Ship small, useful solutions quickly and iterate based on user needs.
  • Work with senior engineers and leadership to identify and resolve operational friction.
  • Own projects end to end, including design, development, deployment, and support.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent project or internship experience.
  • Solid fundamentals in at least one of TypeScript, Ruby, or Go.
  • Experience building with AI coding tools and LLM APIs.
  • Ability to write scripts, small services, or automations that solve real problems.
  • Clear written communication.
  • Willingness and ability to work in person from the San Francisco office.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with the Slack API, GitHub Actions, or similar automation platforms.
  • Exposure to Terraform or Kubernetes.
  • A side project, bot, or tool built to automate a task.

Compensation

  • Base salary range: $120,000–$160,000 USD.
  • Total compensation may include base salary, variable compensation where applicable, benefits, and equity.
