Responsibilities
- Own the electrical and electrical-distribution program scope for vehicle programs executed with external engineering partners.
- Serve as the central EE coordination function and single point of contact for electrical scope, partnering with the external E/E lead.
- Own the EE engineering RASIC from concept through industrialization.
- Drive low-voltage harness and EDS impact assessment, gap analysis, and change management.
- Manage cross-company engineering data exchange and release control, including CAD toolchain/version incompatibilities.
- Maintain configuration and release control of low-voltage harness drawings and support build-to-print readiness with Sourcing and Supplier Quality.
- Coordinate EE work packages including antenna integration, vehicle-level EMC verification, E/E integration and regression testing, thermal validation, and electrical mounting hardware.
- Build and maintain the EE milestone plan, track program gates and material dates, surface risks, and develop recovery options.
- Publish weekly program updates and prepare EE content for executive and gate reviews.
Requirements
- BS or MS in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in technical program management, systems engineering, or engineering management in automotive.
- Direct ownership of electrical distribution systems or vehicle electrical architecture scope.
- Experience managing external engineering partners, engineering service providers, or Tier 1 development partners across time zones.
- Experience negotiating scope boundaries and holding partners accountable for deliverables.
- Willingness to travel internationally approximately quarterly and participate in recurring early-morning Pacific calls.
- Fluency in engineering change management and PLM workflows, including change requests, change actions, EBOM release, and drawing release control.
- Proven low-voltage harness design and release experience in an OEM or major automotive manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with risk analysis and root-cause methodologies, including FTA, FMEA, 8D, and Fishbone analysis.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with CATIA V5 and V6 and data exchange between mismatched OEM and supplier CAD toolchains.
- Knowledge of wire harness design and validation standards, including USCAR and IPC/WHMA-A-620.
- Knowledge of vehicle EMC standards, including CISPR 25.
