Senior Innovation Engineer, Marketplace

Responsibilities

• Design and build durable, reusable Marketplace services and primitives, including purchase orders, contract terms, invoicing rails, and workflow/status state machines.
• Build prototypes and MVPs for new marketplace products, working directly with customers and iterating based on feedback.
• Improve launched products by optimizing workflows, resolving friction points, and raising usability and quality standards.
• Build and refine agent harnesses and AI/LLM-integrated workflows for extracting and reasoning over unstructured documents.
• Use document-extraction tools, model providers, and internal evaluation tooling to test and improve production systems.
• Participate in customer discovery and synthesize findings for product and engineering leads.
• Partner with staff engineers on system design and mentor newer engineers.
• Identify and fix workflow friction within assigned projects.
• Use AI tools to improve productivity, quality, speed, analysis, summarization, problem-solving, automation, and decision-making.

Requirements

• Typically 4–7 years of software engineering experience.
• Solid backend and distributed-systems fundamentals.
• Experience shipping a technical MVP or prototype to a customer-testable state.
• Experience integrating LLM providers or document-extraction tooling, or strong aptitude to learn quickly.
• Comfort working across the stack as needed.
• Curiosity about customer problems, low ego, and a preference for close product collaboration.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with agent harnesses, RAG pipelines, or other AI/LLM-integrated workflows.
• Data engineering, machine learning, or document-processing experience.
• Experience in financial services, construction, real estate, payments, lending, insurance, or complex B2B environments.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $140,000–$180,000 USD per year.
