Design Management Lead
Lead design management for Fluidstack's multi-gigawatt AI data center builds. Set and enforce aggressive design schedules across multiple firms, run high-velocity review processes for constructability/cost/reference conformance, and close the design-field loop on RFIs to enable months-not-years delivery at 50GW+ scale.
About the job
Lead Design Management
Responsibilities
- Lead design management across the build portfolio: every site's design deliverables, consultants, and review cycles under one operating model.
- Set the design schedule per site and hold architect and engineer of record firms to it, escalating slips while recovery is cheap.
- Run the design review machine so packages clear constructability, cost, and reference-design conformance in one pass.
- Own the interface between design and the field: RFI trends feed design fixes, not just answers.
- Engineer data centers that go up in months, not years. At that pace rework is not an option: problems get caught on paper or they cost a data hall.
- Design it once, build it a hundred times. Every site's lessons roll into the reference design on the way to 50GW+, so each build starts ahead of the last.
Requirements
- Led design management on large industrial or mission critical programs with multiple firms in flight.
- Held design firms to schedules they called aggressive, and they delivered.
- Read across disciplines well enough to catch the cross-discipline gaps single-discipline reviewers miss.
- Built review processes that made packages better and faster at the same time.
Nice-to-Haves
- Data center design programs.
- Owner-side design management.
- Modular and DfMA delivery.
- BIM-based review workflows.
