Senior Analytics Engineer - Regulatory Reporting
Build and own the data platform powering regulatory reporting for a federally regulated prediction-markets business. The role combines dbt and SQL engineering, automated validation, root-cause investigations, audit support, and direct collaboration with regulators and compliance.

Responsibilities
- Own requirements for the regulatory reporting data platform and work directly with regulatory bodies to define and refine reporting needs.
- Design and architect purpose-built dbt models and pipelines connected directly to raw data.
- Build automated validation layers, including test cases, cross-validation of reporting outputs, and alerting.
- Lead audit and examination support, owning the data side of exam responses and representing the team with regulators and internal compliance.
- Investigate reporting breaks to root cause and scope and ship permanent fixes.
- Design and lead the broader team’s on-call rotation framework.
- Define monitoring and governance for upstream product and engineering data changes.
- Own the roadmap for surveillance reporting, market maker monitoring, and pre-launch submission validation.
Requirements
- Strong systems, pipeline, and automation mindset with experience building reliable platforms.
- Ability to investigate raw data, identify root causes, and resolve issues under deadlines.
- Ability to communicate with regulatory bodies and translate ambiguous requirements into data definitions.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries.
- Experience building modular dbt models with appropriate testing.
- Experience owning deadline-sensitive processes and communicating issues proactively.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a federally regulated environment, prediction markets platform, fintech, crypto exchange, or neobank.
- Background in regulatory reporting, reconciliation, or trade-level data.
- Sports industry experience, particularly fantasy sports or sports betting.
- Experience building automated reporting pipelines or validation frameworks from scratch.
- Experience with data contracts or schema registries.
- Familiarity with FIXML, FIX protocol, or other financial message formats.
- Familiarity with Airflow or similar orchestration and pipeline monitoring tools.
- Python experience for data investigation, tooling, or lightweight automation.
- Exposure to prediction markets, derivatives, or exchange operations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting base salary: $160,000–$195,000, plus target equity.
