About the job

Responsibilities

Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and Relationship Governance

  • Own hardware procurement processes and, with Legal, lead the drafting, negotiation, and execution of Master Services Agreements, Quality Assurance Agreements, and commercial contracts.
  • Secure multi-year capacity reservations with critical vendors while managing volatile commodity and electronic material prices.
  • Build supply-chain resiliency by moving from single-source dependencies toward dual-sourced ecosystems and viable backup plans.
  • Oversee the packaging supplier portfolio, reliability, and performance standards.
  • Coach and develop the purchasing team, improve spend transparency, and manage contract compliance.

Manufacturing, Automation, and In-House Production

  • Support development, scaling, and operational uptime of proprietary in-house production and programming/flashing stations.
  • Provide structured management to mechanical and automation engineering teams and establish well-documented processes.
  • Protect Yubico intellectual property in co-developed automation lines, fixtures, and parts through operational and contractual controls.
  • Oversee Supplier Quality and enforce cosmetic and technical standards for manufacturers.

NPI and Cross-Functional Integration

  • Drive supplier and internal readiness for new product launches and align stakeholders on NPI milestones.
  • Partner with Planning, Logistics, and Fulfillment to align procurement strategies, lead times, and capacity reservations with demand forecasts.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hardware or industrial supply-chain experience, especially electronics procurement, supplier relationship management, and contract structuring.
  • Experience in mature industrial organizations and agile, fast-moving scale-ups.
  • Commercial leadership experience negotiating multi-million-dollar capacity commitments.
  • Technical depth sufficient to lead automation and mechanical domains.
  • Deep, hands-on experience guiding complex electronic products through NPI under tight deadlines.
  • Diplomatic, high-stakes supplier negotiation skills.
