Software Engineer - Market Data

Build and scale backend services and developer-facing APIs for stocks, options, crypto, and foreign exchange market data. The role requires at least three years of backend development experience, strong infrastructure fundamentals, and hands-on Docker or Kubernetes experience.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Design highly scalable, mission-critical market data provider services.
  • Maintain software quality and test coverage.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and reported bugs.
  • Plan, experiment with, and productionize services and libraries for market data products, including stocks, options, crypto, and foreign exchange.
  • Develop and improve public streaming and historical APIs and their documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of backend software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
  • A DevOps mindset.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of POSIX-like operating systems, modern infrastructure, and orchestration practices.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • Kubernetes experience; CKA or CKAD certification is a plus.
  • SQL experience.
  • IP networking experience.
  • Understanding of financial markets.
  • Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Shell scripting, Linux, and Docker experience.
  • Knowledge of microservice architectures.
  • Knowledge of clean-code principles.
