About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own senior client relationships and advise developers, IPPs, utilities, manufacturers, and sponsors across M&A, debt, tax equity, and transferable tax credits.
  • Drive origination, structuring, and execution of M&A advisory mandates, including sell-side processes, valuation analysis, buyer and seller outreach, and deal negotiation.
  • Support debt origination and advisory across construction, term, back-leverage, tax equity bridge, and other structured debt products.
  • Advise clients on M&A and debt opportunities across the clean energy capital stack.
  • Mentor junior team members on relationship-building and deal execution.
  • Develop client-facing materials, including CIMs, teasers, buyer and lender lists, process trackers, valuation analyses, and financial models.
  • Manage transaction execution workstreams, including diligence oversight, process management, and coordination with legal, financial, and technical advisors.
  • Drive client onboarding and engagement with software and Intelligence platforms.
  • Share customer feedback with Product, Operations, and software teams.
  • Contribute thought leadership on M&A and debt market trends and represent Crux at industry events.
  • Help grow the M&A advisory and debt franchises, expand the buyer, investor, and lender network, and support new business development.
  • Educate buyers, investors, and lenders on risk and proactively resolve transaction issues.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in power and utilities, renewables, clean energy finance, infrastructure M&A, debt capital markets, project finance, investment banking, or a related advisory role.
  • Track record contributing to M&A transactions and/or debt financings, with strong command of deal structuring and execution.
  • Deep expertise in M&A advisory or debt capital markets, with working knowledge of the other.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, including DCF, precedent transactions, comparable companies, cash flow modeling, credit metrics, and covenant analysis.
  • Experience preparing CIMs, teasers, lender presentations, information memoranda, and buyer or lender lists.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex workstreams independently in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, sound professional judgment, and a client-first mindset.
  • Interest in clean energy, technology-enabled financial services, and building new advisory franchises.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • FINRA SIE, Series 79, and Series 63, or willingness to obtain them under broker-dealer sponsorship.
