Responsibilities
- Participate as an active member of the assigned engineering team, contributing to discussions, decisions, and technical design.
- Write production software with meaningful impact on Stripe’s business and users.
- Give and receive technical feedback through code reviews and design discussions.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to seek and incorporate feedback.
- Learn unfamiliar systems, communicate work status clearly, and use AI tooling to support development.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Strong fundamental understanding of computer science.
- Programming experience through coursework, side projects, internships, or other projects.
- Experience with previous internships or multi-person projects, including open-source contributions.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and mentorship.
- Ability to use AI tools while critically reviewing, refining, and validating their outputs.
- At least 1 year of university education or equivalent work experience.
- Clear written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized knowledge in frontend, backend, infrastructure, or other technology areas.
- Experience writing high-quality pull requests with good test coverage.
- Familiarity navigating and managing work in codebases using multiple languages.
