Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Zapier’s India operations and global leadership, aligning local execution with global strategy and escalating key issues.
  • Lead overall India operations and provide regular updates to US leadership.
  • Serve as the senior-most site leader for India-based employees, establishing governance rhythms and driving a high-performance, values-driven remote team.
  • Act as statutory Board Director for Zapier India, attending board meetings, approving minutes and resolutions, and signing statutory filings.
  • Ensure statutory, tax, financial, audit, transfer-pricing, and regulatory compliance for the Indian legal entity.
  • Partner with Deloitte, internal finance, external auditors, and Indian regulatory authorities on compliance matters.
  • Own India people decisions, including hiring, compensation, performance management, employee relations, and terminations.
  • Partner with HR on people strategy, local policy implementation, and compliance with Indian labor law, including POSH and state-specific requirements.
  • Manage local vendor relationships and identify, monitor, and mitigate operational risks.

Requirements

  • 15–20+ years of experience, including 5+ years in India site leadership, general management, COO, or country-head roles for multinational companies.
  • Strong business acumen and stakeholder-management skills in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Experience with financial, legal-entity, statutory, audit, tax, and transfer-pricing compliance for Indian entities.
  • Experience working with Big Four firms and/or legal counsel on India entity matters.
  • Strong people leadership and hiring experience in the Indian context.
  • Willingness and ability to perform statutory director responsibilities and sign board and compliance documents.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, decision-making, and execution skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience setting up or scaling a Global Capability Center in India.
