AML Compliance Analyst
Investigates suspicious activity and supports AML, sanctions, anti-fraud, and securities-surveillance programs for a U.S.-focused financial services business. The role requires 3–5 years of financial-crime investigation experience, strong U.S. regulatory knowledge, and overlap with U.S. Eastern Time.

Responsibilities
- Support Alpaca Securities’ BSA/AML, sanctions, anti-fraud, and securities surveillance programs.
- Investigate potentially suspicious activity through transaction-monitoring alerts, escalations, and referrals.
- Complete transaction-monitoring alerts, regulatory submissions, and case investigations within established deadlines and SLAs.
- Screen individuals, entities, and transactions against OFAC, global sanctions, PEP, enforcement, and adverse-media watchlists.
- Review and respond to FinCEN 314(a) and 314(b) requests, law-enforcement queries, and regulatory inquiries.
- Enhance transaction-monitoring rules, policies, procedures, controls, and risk frameworks.
- Maintain thorough, defensible audit trails for investigations, alert dispositions, and compliance decisions.
- Identify and escalate critical risks, emerging trends, and compliance gaps.
- Prepare SAR recommendations and narratives for management review and support approved SAR filings with FinCEN.
- Assist with risk assessments, remediation efforts, external audits, examinations, and regulatory engagements.
- Conduct CIP/KYC, CDD, and EDD reviews, including evaluation of source of funds, source of wealth, occupation, expected activity, and customer purpose.
- Review and disposition AML, sanctions, and securities-surveillance alerts end to end.
- Assist with due diligence and ongoing monitoring of introducing brokers, omnibus partners, correspondents, and other intermediaries.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in financial crime or AML investigations.
- Strong understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements, including BSA/AML, the USA PATRIOT Act, and SEC/FINRA regulations.
- Familiarity with trading activity and financial crime typologies such as spoofing, layering, wash trading, front-running, insider trading, fraud, account takeover, and manipulative order behavior.
- Strong investigative writing, analytical, judgment, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience with transaction-monitoring, sanctions-screening, case-management, fraud-monitoring, or securities-surveillance systems.
- Experience conducting open-source intelligence research and evaluating public records, adverse media, corporate information, and other investigative sources.
- Working knowledge of domestic and international payment systems.
- Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment.
- Ability and willingness to work hours overlapping with U.S. Eastern Time, generally 4:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. IST, subject to daylight-saving adjustments.

- Knowledge of the FinTech broker-dealer space.
- Experience with U.S.-registered broker-dealers or correspondent clearing firms.
- Familiarity with transaction-alerting platforms such as riskCanvas or Genpact.
- Experience working on remote or global teams.
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and use AI tools to improve efficiency.
- Experience investigating U.S. ACH, wire, brokerage transfer, ACATS, digital-asset, or cross-border payment activity.
- CAMS, CFCS, CFE, or another relevant AML, fraud, or financial-crime certification.
