Build and improve MongoDB’s low-level networking and observability systems for a distributed database. The role requires production C++ experience, distributed-systems expertise, strong computer science fundamentals, and the ability to lead projects collaboratively from design through delivery.

Responsibilities
- Understand and improve the MongoDB networking and observability codebase.
- Lead medium-sized networking or observability projects from technical design through delivery.
- Collaborate across ideation, requirements gathering, design, execution, and delivery.
- Contribute to code reviews and feature design.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building distributed systems.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design and architecture.
- Hands-on experience building production-level code.
- Experience in C++ is required.
- Interest in networking, observability, computer architecture, and system internals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Motivation to collaborate with colleagues.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $122,000–$170,000 CAD.
