Manager, Software Engineering - Integrations

Leads and develops a distributed engineering team responsible for scalable customer integrations and backend systems. The role combines people management, technical strategy, large-scale system design, and expertise in CRM integrations, APIs, authentication, databases, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of front-end and back-end engineers building reliable, scalable systems.
  • Set technical direction and priorities for the Integrations group, guiding architectural decisions.
  • Drive project execution while promoting clean code, testing, observability, and CI/CD practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, TPMs, and stakeholders to define goals and align requirements.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, ownership, innovation, and continuous learning across multiple sites.
  • Recruit and onboard new talent.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of engineering management experience, including direct mentorship and performance management.
  • Experience building and scaling engineering teams, including hiring roadmaps, team culture, and onboarding.
  • Experience coordinating distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones and geographies, including US and India-based teams.
  • 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, preferably with modern back-end stacks.
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in a SaaS or product-driven environment.
  • Experience with CRM and MAP integrations, including Salesforce, HubSpot, and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Experience with Fivetran and trade-offs between managed connectors and native integrations.
  • Understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, API key management, token lifecycles, scopes, refresh flows, and multi-tenant credentials.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, query performance, and operations at scale.
  • Experience with AWS or Google Cloud; GCP services such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and GKE are a plus.
  • Fluency in REST APIs, webhooks, bulk synchronization, idempotency, retry semantics, and rate limiting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative, pragmatic mindset with a bias toward action and customer value.

Compensation and Benefits

  • US base salary: $140,000–$220,000 USD.
  • Additional compensation such as bonus, commission, and equity may apply.
