Founding Technical Product Manager

Own product direction as the first product hire, partnering with founders to define and ship trusted AI-agent products for complex insurance workflows. About the role

Responsibilities

  • Define the product function, including how the team scopes, decides, and ships work.
  • Own product direction with the founders and turn product vision into an executable roadmap.
  • Define how AI agents behave, including what they automate, which tools they use, and where humans remain in the loop.
  • Conduct discovery with brokers, underwriters, and carriers to understand workflows and identify real customer pain points.
  • Translate complex insurance workflows into intuitive products.
  • Keep the team focused on high-impact, well-scoped work and define quality standards before development begins.
  • Set the bar for product quality and user experience.
  • Shape products including universal assistants, no-code agent creation, multi-day agent workflows, and self-improving agents.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including substantial experience at early-stage or high-growth companies.
  • Track record of shipping products that transform complex professional workflows.
  • Technical fluency with agents and large language models, including the ability to prototype ideas and reason about engineering tradeoffs.
  • Deep intuition for LLMs and enthusiasm for turning AI capabilities into trusted products.
  • Strong product discovery skills and the ability to define problems amid ambiguity.
  • Excellent written communication and ability to create clear, buildable specifications.
  • Builder mentality, high ownership, and accountability for shipped outcomes.

Nice to Have

  • Background in insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.
  • Experience building a product from 0 to 1 and establishing the associated processes.
  • Experience with integration-first products embedded in customers' existing tools.
  • Comfort conducting quantitative analyses.
