Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks across data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, REST APIs, and backend services.
- Validate data integrity, schema correctness, transformation accuracy, and ERP-to-platform ingestion flows.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and reliability gaps in data-intensive workflows and customer environments.
- Build data-quality validation suites for row counts, referential integrity, financial aggregations, and cross-system reconciliation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with test reporting and alerting.
- Develop test data strategies, including synthetic financial data generation and environment seeding.
- Support release validation, defect triage, and root-cause analysis of data discrepancies.
- Mentor junior quality engineering team members and promote data-quality-focused testing practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of QA automation experience, including 2+ years testing data pipelines, data warehouses, or data-intensive backend services.
- Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and test frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Playwright, and Cypress.
- Hands-on SQL and data-validation experience, including complex queries for transformation logic, aggregations, and financial data accuracy.
- Experience testing Snowflake, Redshift, or similar cloud data warehouses.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT, data ingestion, transformation, schema evolution, and data lineage.
- Experience with REST API testing and backend-service validation.
- Proficiency with GitHub Actions and Git.
- Strong debugging skills for tracing discrepancies from the UI through APIs and pipelines to raw data stores.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or SAP.
- Familiarity with financial concepts including general ledger, month-end close, and multi-entity accounting.
- Experience with observability or data-monitoring tools.
- Background in SaaS or cloud-native architectures.
