About the role

Responsibilities

  • Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to own and solve problems end-to-end.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, data scientists, and product managers to develop new features and products.
  • Uphold high engineering standards and bring consistency to multiple codebases and processes.
  • Build elegant APIs and user experiences that enable merchants to run and scale their businesses on Stripe.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of Stripe's next-generation infrastructure to meet the company's and customers' growth needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working across the stack and navigating codebases with different languages and tools.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing user-facing experiences and writing queries to analyze experiment results.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Ruby, Java, Scala, and SQL.
  • At least 2 years of experience with cloud-based services, including gRPC, GraphQL, and AWS.
  • Proficiency with MongoDB, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Grafana, Prometheus, and AWS.
  • Experience with macOS and Unix-based operating systems.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $156,800.00–$235,200.00 per year.
  • Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits, and wellness stipends.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • 50% telecommuting permitted.
