Software Engineer, New Grad - Frontend
Build and deploy frontend-focused software for Stripe’s financial infrastructure while collaborating on coding projects, learning unfamiliar systems, and using AI tools with rigorous review. Designed for new graduates with programming experience and a computer science or related degree.

Responsibilities
- Build and deploy software that supports Stripe’s financial infrastructure and products.
- Collaborate on multi-person coding projects with peers, mentors, stakeholders, and subject-matter experts.
- Learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and mentorship.
- Explain technical work clearly to stakeholders, team members, and colleagues.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development while rigorously reviewing, refining, and validating outputs.
- Participate in code reviews and safely update production systems.
- Navigate and manage work in large codebases.
- Lead small projects independently and contribute to larger projects alongside peers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a directly related field, obtained by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience.
- New graduate candidates must have no more than 18 months of professional experience, excluding internships.
- Programming experience through side projects, coursework, internships, or collaborative coding projects.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and work effectively with mentors and subject-matter experts.
- Clear written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment when using and validating AI-generated outputs.
Nice-to-haves
- Specialized knowledge in frontend, backend, infrastructure, or another technology area, combined with broad technical knowledge.
- Experience with code review practices and safely updating production systems.
- Familiarity with large codebases.
- Experience independently leading small projects.
- High agency in navigating complex technical obstacles and knowing when to seek help.
