Staff Software Engineer, Developer Platform
Builds APIs, MCP tools, CLI integrations, and other developer-facing platform surfaces for Auth0, serving both developers and AI agents. The role requires 7+ years of software engineering experience, strong Node.js skills, and experience with scalable APIs or developer tooling.

Responsibilities
- Design and build developer-facing platform surfaces, including APIs, MCP tools, and CLI integrations for developers and AI agents.
- Own the technical direction for key platform surfaces that make Auth0 consumable by agents.
- Drive cross-cutting technical decisions that keep the platform coherent and easy to build on.
- Collaborate peer-to-peer with technical leads across teams to own work, unblock others, and raise execution standards.
- Apply developer empathy to API and platform design.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful experience with platform, SDK, or developer-tooling work.
- Strong Node.js fundamentals; Go is a plus.
- Track record of designing and shipping APIs or developer-facing surfaces at scale.
- Ability to own ambiguous problems without heavy top-down scoping.
- Hands-on familiarity with agentic tooling, MCP, or LLM-facing API design.
- Experience collaborating across engineering, product, and architecture in a fast-moving environment.
- Bias for execution and ability to improve the people around you.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with identity, authorization, or IAM platforms.
- Experience with agent frameworks, AI-facing APIs, or LLM developer toolchains.
- Background at a company where developers are the primary customers.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary range in Canada: $160,000–$220,000 CAD.
