Responsibilities
- Partner with product teams from ideation through launch, shaping product designs to address compliance and financial crime risks early.
- Lead compliance reviews and product risk assessments for new launches and feature expansions, providing risk-based recommendations.
- Translate compliance requirements into actionable product, control, and reporting expectations.
- Influence product roadmaps and design decisions.
- Support product governance and Board engagement by documenting and presenting product requirements and tracking implementation.
- Collaborate with Regional Compliance Officers, Money Laundering Reporting Officers, Legal, and other subject-matter experts.
- Enable product and business teams to apply requirements, precedents, and standards independently through a compliant-by-design approach.
- Build a strong culture of compliance across the organization.
- Use AI and agentic tools to scale compliance enablement, including product risk assessments, regulatory research, and requirements documentation, while validating generated outputs.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience building and managing compliance programs in regulated financial services, preferably fintech, payments, or banking.
- Experience evaluating emerging products for compliance risk, implementing compliance solutions with product and business stakeholders, and conducting product risk assessments.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, financial crime, and anti-money laundering practices.
- Ability to lead multiple complex projects and programs from ambiguous early questions through implementation.
- Ability to interpret regulations and guidance, identify underlying risks, and translate requirements into proportionate compliance programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex regulatory concepts to non-compliance audiences.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and senior stakeholder management skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and comfort with unfamiliar markets, product types, and regulatory frameworks.
- Sound independent judgment in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Demonstrated AI fluency, creativity, and judgment in applying AI to compliance research, requirements mapping, and workflow improvement.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience using AI or agentic tools in compliance or regulatory contexts, such as policy drafting, risk assessments, regulatory research, or workflow automation.
- Experience with stablecoin, crypto, or emerging payments product compliance.
- ACAMS, CRCM, ICA Diploma or Advanced Certificate, or equivalent certification.
