Accounting Manager
Leads the monthly and quarterly close, reviews accounting work, manages team members, and strengthens controls and audit readiness. Requires 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, US GAAP expertise, a bachelor's degree, and hands-on ownership of general ledger operations.

Responsibilities
- Own and manage the monthly and quarterly close process, including the close calendar, journal entries, account reconciliations, and review process.
- Directly manage members of the accounting team, including workload allocation, coaching, feedback, and development.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting work prepared by the team.
- Serve as the day-to-day escalation point for accounting questions before they reach the Controller or Head of Technical Accounting.
- Partner with the Controller and Head of Technical Accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Improve the rigor and efficiency of the close process through automation, standardization, and stronger operating procedures.
- Document accounting processes and help build scalable, SOX-ready controls and procedures.
- Coordinate audit requests, walkthroughs, PBC schedules, and follow-ups with external auditors.
- Improve accounting systems and workflows, including NetSuite and related finance tooling.
- Support ad hoc accounting and finance projects as the company scales.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful ownership of the general ledger and monthly or quarterly close.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting principles.
- Experience leading, mentoring, reviewing, or managing other accountants, with a genuine desire to continue developing people.
- Strong accounting judgment and the ability to review work, identify issues, and determine when escalation is needed.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex processes and ability to drive them to completion.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to keep multiple contributors on track against a close calendar.
- Comfort working in a fast-growing environment with evolving processes and responsibilities.
- Willingness to stay close to the details and perform hands-on accounting work when needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Nice to Haves
- CPA or progress toward a CPA.
- Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP.
- Experience in a high-growth technology company, public-company environment, or Big Four accounting firm.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $150,000–$200,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.
