Revenue Accounting Manager

Own revenue recognition, billing operations, contract review, indirect tax, and revenue-related close and reporting for a rapidly scaling AI infrastructure company. Responsibilities

Revenue Recognition and Technical Accounting

  • Own revenue recognition under ASC 606 across usage-based and consumption arrangements, committed capacity deals, credits, multi-year contracts, and new business models.
  • Advise on revenue recognition treatment for new deal structures, products, and pricing models.

Billing Operations

  • Own end-to-end billing, including invoice generation, accuracy checks, and dispute resolution.
  • Identify and automate manual, error-prone steps in the billing-to-cash workflow.
  • Assist with collections efforts and process improvements.

Contract Review and Deal Support

  • Build and maintain a standardized contract review process for Sales and Legal.
  • Flag non-standard terms affecting revenue recognition before deals close.
  • Advise Sales, Revenue Operations, and Legal on deal structuring.

Sales and Indirect Tax

  • Own sales and indirect tax processes, including tax automation tool review and maintenance, nexus tracking, exemption certificates, filings, and governance for new jurisdictions.

Close and Reporting

  • Own the revenue-related monthly close, including deferred revenue rollforwards, unbilled accounts receivable, credit memos, and revenue reserves.
  • Partner with FP&A to reconcile billed and recognized revenue and support ARR reporting and forecasting.
  • Own revenue-related audit deliverables, including technical memoranda and sample-testing support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years focused on revenue accounting and recognition.
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 606, including variable consideration, multiple performance obligations, and usage-based revenue models.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing and abstracting commercial contracts for accounting treatment.
  • Experience directly owning billing operations.
  • Public-company or audit-ready private-company experience, from Big Four or industry settings, with audit exposure.
  • Builder mentality and bias toward execution on a lean team.
  • Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP and a modern billing platform.
  • Based in San Francisco or New York, with the ability to work in person at least 3 days per week.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience at a high-growth, venture-backed infrastructure or cloud company with usage-based or hybrid pricing.
  • Experience with committed-use or capacity contracts.
  • Experience overseeing sales and indirect tax compliance through an automated tax tool across multiple jurisdictions.
  • CPA certification.
  • Exposure to SOX controls in a revenue cycle context.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range of $145,000–$160,000, plus meaningful equity.
