What You’ll Do
You’ll lead a team of highly technical operators responsible for the systems, automation, and operational infrastructure that power Brex’s Operations organization at scale. This role sits at the center of some of Brex’s most critical functions — including Risk, Compliance, Payment Operations, Servicing, and Banking Operations — partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, and Operations leaders to solve complex business problems.
This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role. You’ll define the long-term vision for how Brex scales operationally while directly driving execution on high-impact systems, workflows, and AI-powered tooling. Your team will play a central role in transforming traditional operations into AI-native organizations through intelligent automation, agentic workflows, decision infrastructure, and scalable internal platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of highly technical operators responsible for systems, automation, and operational infrastructure
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, and Operations leaders on complex cross-functional problems
- Define long-term vision for operational scaling and drive execution on systems, workflows, and AI-powered tooling
- Build and scale internal systems, workflows, and operational tooling
- Leverage AI/LLM technologies to automate workflows and build internal tools and agentic systems
- Transform traditional operations into AI-native organizations through intelligent automation and decision infrastructure
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience leading Systems, BizOps, TechOps, Internal Platform, or Operational Excellence teams in high-growth environments
- Proven track record of building and scaling internal systems, workflows, and operational tooling with measurable business impact
- Experience leveraging AI/LLM technologies to automate workflows and build agentic systems
- Strong understanding of modern operational tooling ecosystems (Salesforce, Retool, workflow automation tools, data infrastructure)
- Technical fluency with systems architecture and automation development (JavaScript, Python, SQL, APIs, AI tooling)
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to use data to inform strategy and measure outcomes
- Ability to operate effectively across cross-functional environments and align technical solutions with business strategy
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and lead complex initiatives from concept to execution
- Strong ownership mentality with bias toward action and hands-on approach
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $210,000 - $263,000
- Equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of total compensation package
- Hybrid work environment with up to 4 weeks fully remote per year
