Design Reliability Engineer – Sensor, Compute and EE Systems

Design Reliability Engineer ensures durability of sensors, AI compute, and ECUs in autonomous vehicles through targets, DFMEA, test plans, and PHM strategies. Requires 3-5 years experience, reliability stats expertise, and engineering degree.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Establish and refine system/component-level reliability targets for sensors, AI compute, and ECUs.
  • Drive DFMEA processes to identify risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop virtual and physical test plans based on reliability targets and physics-of-failure.
  • Lead PHM strategies including health indicators, degradation models, and failure precursors.
  • Operationalize PHM with software and data teams for monitoring and maintenance.
  • Build closed-loop reliability systems using field data for continuous improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s in engineering with 3-5 years hands-on Reliability Engineering experience.
  • Understanding of sensors, high-performance computers, and ECUs failure modes.
  • Expertise in reliability data analysis, risk assessment, and component targets.
  • Strong foundation in reliability statistics (Weibull, life data analysis) and physics (thermal, vibration, etc.).
  • Experience in failure mode assessment, accelerated testing, field monitoring, or PHM.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Python tools: PySpark, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy.
  • ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer or similar.
  • ISO 26262 Functional Safety knowledge.
