Founding Data Analytics Engineer

Build and own the unified data layer powering internal analytics, customer-facing dashboards, benchmarks, and future product intelligence. The role requires production data-pipeline experience, strong SQL and Python, data modeling expertise, and ownership of architecture and data quality.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Build and run reliable ingestion pipelines from all data sources into ClickHouse.
  • Model raw feeds into clean, documented tables, including entity resolution across billing, support, and call data.
  • Build canonical views and metric definitions as the source of truth for dashboards and analyses.
  • Structure data models, definitions, and documentation so people and AI agents can query data accurately.
  • Build internal tools for trusted data questions and responses.
  • Implement freshness checks, data-quality tests, and alerts.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses, segment investigations, and partner analyses.
  • Work closely with engineering on schemas, events, architecture, and upstream changes.

Requirements

  • 4–8+ years of experience in data or analytics engineering.
  • Production experience building and operating end-to-end pipelines.
  • Strong SQL and solid Python skills.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tooling and orchestration, such as Airbyte, Fivetran, Dagster, dbt, or custom tooling.
  • Experience with a columnar or OLAP warehouse; ClickHouse is preferred, with BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift also applicable.
  • Strong data-modeling skills and experience designing tables for others to query.

Nice to Have

  • Experience as the first or only data hire, or building a data platform from scratch.
  • ClickHouse experience, including materialized views and performance tuning on event-scale data.
  • Multi-source identity or entity-resolution experience.
  • Customer-facing or multi-tenant analytics experience, including strict customer-level data isolation.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS operational data, CRM data, or field-service data such as ServiceTitan.
