Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap for infrastructure and the data platform, scaling to support substantially more traffic while targeting 99.95% uptime and controlling cloud spend across multiple AWS regions.
- Shape agentic production operations and build an AI enablement layer that delegates routine operational work to agents.
- Define the reliability engineering practice, including SLI and SLO frameworks, incident response, and post-mortems.
- Improve developer experience through CI platform standardization and self-service infrastructure-as-code tooling.
- Lead incident command during critical outages and drive systemic fixes.
- Own vendor strategy and the infrastructure budget, including enterprise contract negotiations and vendor migrations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience.
- 4+ years managing or leading engineering teams at a high-growth technology company.
- Experience fundamentally changing team operations through AI, including designing systems that absorb operational work.
- Ability to set technical direction with incomplete information, execute, and adjust based on data.
- Experience managing managers or tech leads and scaling teams while maintaining performance and culture.
- Deep hands-on expertise with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, and modern observability tooling.
- Ability to debug complex distributed systems.
- Strong business acumen across cloud spend, developer velocity, and reliability.
- Track record of developing engineers.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $230,000-$280,000, plus equity and benefits.
