Responsibilities
- Define and enable trusted, strategic datasets and analytics solutions that empower data consumers to quickly and reliably gain insights at scale
- Lead efforts to enhance self-serve analytics across the organization through advanced administration, adoption strategies, and training for analytics tools (Looker and Amplitude)
- Partner strategically with analysts, product managers, and product engineers to ensure the analytics infrastructure meets evolving business requirements
- Architect and develop production-grade data transformations and models using SQL, dbt, and Dagster, ensuring optimal performance, maintainability, scalability, and reliability
- Collaborate closely with data engineering on strategic infrastructure initiatives to enhance data ingestion, processing pipelines, and integration of new data sources
- Drive the establishment and continuous improvement of standards around data governance, security, privacy, quality, and retention
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as an analytics engineer, data engineer, or similar role
- 3+ years of experience using dbt & dbt Core, with a strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
- Expertise in writing performant SQL, especially within cloud-based data warehouses like Snowflake
- Strong Looker developer skills, with an emphasis on LookML modeling and overall project design
- Experience managing the administration and/or adoption of data visualization tools (e.g. Looker) and event-based analytics/user journey tools (e.g. Amplitude)
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and work with urgency in a fast-moving environment with multiple stakeholders
- Good communication skills across all levels of stakeholders (business & technical) with the ability to influence and build consensus
- Proficiency with Python
- Experience with Dagster or other orchestration tools
- Experience utilizing AI Codegen to improve the efficiency of your workflow
- Experience with data governance principles, KPI management, and supporting data operations for business intelligence
