Responsibilities
- Interview engineering teams to identify workflow pain points and prioritize tools or architectural improvements.
- Design and implement reusable patterns with Nest.js, React.js, and TypeScript.
- Optimize PostgreSQL queries and Kafka producer/consumer patterns for performance and reliability.
- Own and evolve Kubernetes and ArgoCD configurations for automated, safe deployments.
- Lead cross-team technical challenges involving shared libraries and service-to-service communication.
- Refactor complex codebases into maintainable, testable modules.
- Mentor and coach engineers across the organization.
- Research, prototype, and roll out internal tools, libraries, and frameworks for CI/CD, local development, and observability.
- Introduce architectural changes and support adoption through documentation, workshops, and one-on-one guidance.
- Lead code reviews and communicate technical trade-offs across functions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a record of providing technical direction.
- Experience in Platform, Infrastructure, or Developer Experience teams.
- Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, including scaling Nest.js backends and React.js frontends.
- Hands-on experience managing containerized workloads with Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
- Strong PostgreSQL proficiency, including query optimization and schema design.
- Strong Kafka proficiency and event-driven architecture experience.
- Experience replacing complex legacy code with scalable, maintainable architecture.
- Ability to translate ambiguous technical problems into prioritized roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and psychological safety while raising engineering quality.
Nice-to-haves
- AWS experience with MSK, RDS, EKS, S3, and Lambda.
- Redshift schema design, ETL pipeline management, and query optimization.
- Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
- Redis and distributed caching strategies.
- Python, Celery, and SQLAlchemy.
- Familiarity with serverless computing.
