Responsibilities
- Lead the design and optimization of high-impact composite manufacturing processes across multiple programs.
- Drive production scale-up while balancing throughput, quality, and cost.
- Lead manufacturing engineering for a new production line supporting a next-generation jet.
- Develop CPD/Fibersim definitions and producibility assessments for composite parts.
- Scope and deploy manufacturing equipment, tooling, automation, and hardware/software production systems.
- Source and integrate capital equipment, production tools, and automation systems with vendors.
- Mentor engineers and production personnel.
- Standardize and improve manufacturing performance across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in rapid-growth environments.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA.
- Experience with Composite Part Design (CPD), Fibersim, and Generative Shape Design (GSD).
- Experience scaling production processes in a startup or rapid-growth environment.
- Strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes, including machining, lamination, and assembly.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma process-improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and adapt to changing priorities.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing and automation systems.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and data-driven manufacturing decision-making.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and tooling design.
- Project management experience handling multiple priorities and deadlines.
