Staff Engineer, Power Electronics
Leads flight-critical high- and low-voltage power electronics design for an autonomous aircraft, from concept through production and validation. Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, 6+ years of power electronics experience, product-shipping experience, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities
- Own flight-critical power system design for V-BAT.
- Design high-voltage and low-voltage power electronics, including inverters, DC-DC converters, battery management systems, and related subsystems.
- Lead design, verification, and manufacturing deployment activities.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical feedback across electrical and cross-functional teams.
- Own full-cycle hardware development from concept, modeling, worst-case analysis, schematic capture, simulation, and prototyping through design iteration, testing, and validation.
- Drive PCB layout and design with ECAD engineers, optimizing power density, EMI, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
- Design for safety, manufacturability, reliability, and aircraft reliability.
- Collaborate with Mechanical, CAD, Embedded, Software, Supply Chain, Test Automation, Production, and aircraft teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional design reviews.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and technical milestones.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 6+ years of experience as a power electronics engineer.
- Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, circuit testing, and debugging.
- Experience contributing to and leading multiple product design cycles involving electrical, mechanical, and software engineering.
- Demonstrated experience shipping products and delivering high-quality solutions in fast-paced development environments.
- Proactive approach to improving hardware development efficiency, quality, project success, and aircraft reliability.
Compensation
- Annual salary: $150,000-$230,000.
