Staff Software Engineer - Trust & Safety
Staff-level engineer to found and lead a new Trust & Safety engineering team, architecting systems to detect fraud, billing anomalies, and credential abuse for a mental healthcare platform.
Responsibilities
- Serve as chief architect of Trust & Safety Engineering team
- Drive product-based implementations to fulfill, audit, measure, and enforce Trust & Safety policies
- Build robust custom tools and leverage industry solutions to investigate and mitigate threats like fraud, billing anomalies, and credential abuse
- Lead product architecture and operational, process-based solutions
- Mentor senior engineers and establish design patterns
- Drive all phases of the development lifecycle: planning, specing, execution, measuring success, and post-launch maintenance
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience
- 1+ years working on Trust & Safety systems
- 1+ years helping to form a new team from scratch
- Experience working on cross-functional teams bridging technical and non-technical groups
- Fullstack experience building modern database-backed (SQL/NoSQL) web applications
- Experience with microservice development
- Experience mentoring others, reviewing architectures, and establishing design patterns
- Experience driving all phases of the development lifecycle
- Experience working on highly complex projects with focus on sustainable results

- Experience developing SaaS applications using AWS
- Previous experience in products with high reliability/accuracy requirements (finance, mission critical systems)
- Experience with on-call, ability to deep dive complex issues and drive to resolution independently
