About the role
What you'll do
As the first Product Security Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of Security and Software Engineering. Reporting to the CISO, you will build automation, tools, and workflows that integrate security into the software development lifecycle.
Core strategic pillars:
- Secure architecture and auth: Design and implement auth enhancements such as magic link improvements and access/audit log features.
- Privacy engineering: Lead DSAR integration, build automated data deletion capabilities, and improve privacy-preserving data de-identification and anonymization.
- Full-cycle remediation: Own end-to-end pentest-to-fix lifecycle, remediate SAST issues, and build greenkeeping systems for dependency patching.
Additional responsibilities:
- Build secure-by-default libraries.
- Conduct threat modeling with engineering leads.
- Help engineering squads navigate security use cases.
Who you are
- Builder first: 5+ years software engineering experience with Python, Go, Kotlin or similar.
- Security mindset: Understand OWASP Top 10, identity flows, prompt injections.
- Automation enthusiast: Experience with LLM agents.
- Comfortable context-switching across teams.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with GCP, Github Advanced Security (GHAS), Stytch, Sentry, Fullstory, Statsig.
- Healthcare data experience: HIPAA, SOC 2 Type 2, HITRUST.
- Building data infrastructure for AI/ML, privacy techniques.
- Fast-paced startup experience.
Compensation: $175,000 - $200,000 base salary, plus equity and benefits.
