Senior Product Manager II

149k – 228kUnited StatesProduct ManagementRemote5+ YOE
Summary

Leads product strategy and execution for onboarding and lifecycle systems, including approval workflows, permissions, and worker onboarding in a production payroll platform. Requires 5+ years PM experience in SaaS/fintech, technical orientation, AI tool proficiency, and data analysis skills.

About the role

What You'll Do

  • Own the roadmap and vision for your product area, aligning customer needs with company priorities.
  • Partner closely with engineering and design to define requirements, scope solutions, and deliver high-quality features that solve meaningful problems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, business development, client operations, legal, and go-to-market teams to ensure alignment and readiness for launches.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers and the production payroll domain to uncover insights, identify unmet needs, and inspire innovation.
  • Define success metrics and use data-driven insights to guide prioritization and measure impact.
  • Advocate for quality and compliance, ensuring that products meet the standards required in financial and regulated environments.
  • Drive execution end-to-end, from discovery through launch, ensuring on-time, predictable delivery.
  • Triage and prioritize cross-team inbound requests — multiple product teams interact with and depend on workflows and systems in your domain, and you'll manage competing demands as part of your roadmap.
  • Use AI tools daily to accelerate your workflow — from discovery and analysis to writing, code comprehension, and prototyping. We expect our PMs to be builders, not just strategists.

What You'll Have

  • 5+ years of product management experience in a SaaS, fintech, or similarly complex technical environment.
  • Proven ability to define and execute on product strategy with measurable outcomes.
  • A technical orientation, so you're comfortable reasoning with engineering about systems, models, integrations, and data flows without heavy hand-holding.
  • You are an active, daily user of AI tools to do your job. You use LLMs, AI-assisted coding tools, and AI workflows not as experiments but as core parts of how you ship product. You should be able to articulate specifically how AI has changed how you do PM work, and where it's headed.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, sales, operations, legal).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias toward action.
  • Comfort working in areas of ambiguity—able to dive deep and become a subject matter expert.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Clear, structured, decision-oriented writing.
  • Strong critical thinker, creative problem solver, fast learner, and customer advocate with deep empathy for user needs. You have a track record of translating customer insights into elegant, scalable solutions, especially across operationally complex user journeys.
  • Experience owning products with high cross-team surface area — whether platform/infrastructure systems that other teams depend on, or customer-facing flows that touch compliance, payments, and multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders and product teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to independently leverage data to define, track, and measure product success - using tools like SQL, Pendo, Omni, or Snowflake to uncover insights and inform decisions.

Extra Points if You Have

  • Domain Expertise: Experience in payroll, fintech, or the entertainment industry, particularly working with complex compliance or regulatory requirements.
  • Scale-Up Experience: Worked at a high-growth SaaS or scale-up company, helping to mature product processes while maintaining speed and agility.
  • Platform Systems Experience: Experience with approval workflows, role-based access control (RBAC), permissions systems, or identity/auth products (Auth0, Okta, session management) in a multi-tenant SaaS product.
  • Worker/Onboarding Systems Experience: Experience with user onboarding flows, hiring workflows, compliance document management (I-9, W-4), or multi-step form orchestration in regulated environments.
  • AI Builder, Not Just User: Beyond using AI tools, you've built prototypes, internal tools, or workflows using LLMs, MCPs, or AI-assisted development tools. You tinker, experiment, and ship.
