About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve highly scalable, distributed platform components that reliably serve as shared building blocks across Sift's ecosystem, even under heavy load.
  • Deliver engineering solutions that address complex, cross-cutting customer and platform needs at scale, reducing effort for product teams to ship features.
  • Collaborate with engineers within Gravity and partner teams to introduce and maintain shared services, data models, and libraries.
  • Continuously improve platform engineering practices, tooling, and guardrails for secure, compliant, and cost-effective operation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building distributed backend systems using Java.
  • 3+ years experience designing/delivering highly-available services.
  • 2+ years of experience building React-based frontend applications, preferably platform areas.
  • Experience with data pipelines.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication & collaboration skills - team-first, product-first mindset.
