About the role
What You’ll Do
- Build High-Density Healthcare Interfaces: Architect dynamic, multi-step medical intake engines, high-density provider charting dashboards, and patient-facing applications that handle sensitive PHI with perfect state synchronization.
- Master Client-Side Architecture: Design robust, scalable frontend architectures that manage complex state, handle asynchronous data fetching cleanly, and ensure interfaces feel instantaneous even when underlying APIs are slow.
- Collaborate Across the Client Ecosystem: Work closely with mobile engineers to establish shared state patterns, reusable business logic, and a unified architectural standard across all client platforms (web, React Native, Expo).
- Champion the User Experience: Make pragmatic, high-quality design decisions using component systems to improve patient outcomes.
- Own Frontend Reliability: Manage frontend deployment pipelines, performance budgets, and client-side observability/error tracking (e.g., Sentry, Datadog).
- Build Agentic Workflows: Integrate AI capabilities into product interfaces to automate clinical operations and scale provider workflows.
Who You Are
- 5-7+ years of frontend engineering experience building and operating production React applications with dense data visualization and accessible user experiences.
- Deep understanding of React render cycle, state architecture, and tradeoffs (SSR, static generation, client-side fetching); pragmatic use of tools like Next.js.
- Strong product sense, eye for design, adherence to design systems.
- Experience using frontier AI tools (e.g., Codex, Claude) to accelerate development while auditing outputs.
- Collaborative with low ego, high standards, excellent communication; thrives in regulated healthcare environments.
- Excited for in-person work 5 days/week in San Francisco office.
