Revenue Accountant
Handles revenue recognition per ASC 606 by reviewing contracts, preparing journal entries, and analyzing billing data. Requires bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 1+ years experience, advanced Excel, and US GAAP knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Review customer contracts for application of appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Create and maintain complex revenue recognition contract templates which capture total contract value, billings, the standard selling price allocation and revenue recognized
- Analyze billing and software go-live data to support proper revenue recognition
- Prepare revenue journal entries and deferred revenue balance sheet account reconciliations and rollforwards and analysis of unusual or significant changes
- Assist with updating and maintaining the revenue recognition policy memo and the standalone selling price analysis
- Assist with the improvement of revenue recognition processes and controls through cross-functional interactions with sales and implementation teams
- Support Financial Planning and Analysis team with revenue forecasting and delivering revenue metrics and reporting
- Support the maintenance of accurate customer product and contract records in Salesforce CPQ
- Support the annual external audit
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 1+ years experience in revenue accounting, audit or general accounting preferred
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to perform functions like V-lookup and Pivot Table, as well as ability to understand more complex formulas
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work
- Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills; able to deliver messages effectively both verbally and in writing
