Paralegal II, Litigation
Litigation paralegal supporting in-house counsel with investigations, discovery coordination, e-discovery, and legal operations for pre-litigation and filed matters. Requires 5+ years relevant experience and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in-house counsel with administrative tasks, pre-litigation and litigation matters, and responding to legal requests
- Conduct deep-dive fact investigations related to pre-litigation matters, arbitrations, and filed lawsuits
- Prepare memoranda and summaries of factual research and make recommendations to supervising attorneys
- Coordinate document collection and e-discovery workstreams
- Work cross-functionally with partners outside of Legal to gather facts and information and improve processes
- Liaise with internal and external counsel on a day-to-day basis
- Help define procedures and practices within Legal to promote efficient workflows and handling of legal requests
- Organize and maintain a variety of legal files, data, and information in high volume
- Respond to consumer complaints, manage small claims court cases, and handle diverse special projects for in-house attorneys
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years relevant legal experience (administrative, legal, operations, project management)
- Experience handling discovery in complex litigation matters
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Collaborative, with ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships
- Exceptionally organized, efficient, detail-oriented, and articulate
- Comfortable working with a high volume of information
- Ability to receive general direction and run projects independently
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and deadlines with strong time management skills
- Generally comfortable utilizing new technology
- Proficiency working in a Mac environment, and specifically with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.), Slack, Excel, and Word
