Lead Data Engineer
Lead the data engineering team to build and evolve a modern cloud-native data platform, drive data culture, and deliver high-impact data products for risk, customer acquisition, and financial services.
What You’ll Do
- Lead design and implementation of all aspects of our data ecosystem — from obtaining third party data to building our own data products, from infrastructure architecture to end-user BI and data exploration toolchain
- Evangelize and implement best practices, from reasoning about statistical significance to granting data access via AI tools, from source control and change management to database migrations
- Establish guardrails for self-serve ecosystem for the business users
- Help product engineering teams evolve from treating data as exhaust to building DDD-based data products
- Enhance ETL/ELT patterns, from landing zone to semantic layers
- Ensure metrics are built on top of consistent, curated data with clear stewardship
- Oversee connected SaaS data landscape
- Own the budget for the data infrastructure and develop a sensible cost allocation model
- Safeguard data, from tokenization and access controls, to retention and backups
- Remain relentlessly pragmatic and balance daily demands of a fast-growing startup business with the needs of a well-managed platform
Requirements
- 7-10+ years hands-on experience working across the data ecosystem, from modern ETL/ELT and orchestration to data warehouses and columnar stores, from BI tooling for less-technical business users to SQL optimization
- Software engineering mindset, leading with the principles of source control, infrastructure as code, testing, modularity, automation, CI/CD, and observability
- Strong professional network
- Experience working directly with product engineers as well as business users
- Proficient in Python
- Ability to figure stuff out — research, design solutions, implement technical spikes, and deliver through responsible change management
- Owner mindset and continuously look for improvements to data infrastructure
- Thought-leader that keeps a finger on the pulse of the industry — vendor landscape, industry trends
- Work from NYC SoHo office at least four days a week

- Salary range: $170K-$220K

Software Engineer, Data Platform
Build and maintain data infrastructure processing petabytes of data. Own end-to-end projects for data ingestion, transformation, and serving systems. Requires 3+ years of software engineering experience.
Staff Analytics Engineer
Design and maintain a robust business data layer in dbt to enable trusted GTM sales analytics, reporting, data science, and AI capabilities. Requires 8+ years in analytics engineering with advanced SQL and dbt expertise.

Staff Software Engineer, Data Platform
Staff Software Engineer building and scaling high-volume, low-latency distributed data platform services and analytics infrastructure using Java, Kinesis, Flink, Snowflake, and Kubernetes. Requires 8+ years experience and U.S. Person status for FedRAMP access.
