Financial Controller
Own end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, and controllership for a fast-growing SaaS company. Manage month-end close, revenue recognition, AR/collections, tax compliance, and build scalable finance processes and controls.
Responsibilities
- Own month-end close end-to-end and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
- Manage payroll, sales commissions, bill payments, expense reviews, and approval workflows
- Lead accounts receivable, collections, and DSO improvement across Mintlify and Helicone
- Oversee revenue recognition and billing reconciliation across usage-based, credit-based, and multi-year contracts
- Own federal and state tax compliance, filings, and implementation of compliance tooling
- Manage standalone financial reporting, intercompany accounting, and billing infrastructure for Helicone
- Build internal controls, improve accounting processes, and prepare the business for future audit readiness
- Produce reliable metrics and reporting that leadership, investors, and the board can trust
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting, controllership, or finance experience within SaaS or technology companies
- Deep expertise in full-cycle accounting, month-end close ownership, financial reporting, and GAAP
- Strong understanding of SaaS revenue recognition, including usage-based billing, credits, overages, and recurring revenue models
- Experience managing accounts receivable, collections, cash flow reporting, and operational finance processes
- Familiarity with SaaS metrics such as ARR, NRR, GRR, run-rate revenue, and DSO
- Proven ability to manage external accounting partners while maintaining ownership and accountability for outcomes
- Experience building and scaling finance processes in fast-growing environments
- Exceptional ownership and agency with ability to independently prioritize, identify issues early, and drive execution without heavy direction
