Responsibilities
Build the GI product line from scratch, defining and launching a new digital care product.
Deliver large product capabilities and independently lead high-complexity projects from roadmap to production.
Break down complex problems, resolve incident root causes, and make decisions grounded in customer needs and business priorities.
Implement high-quality, reliable, performant software on a tight schedule.
Apply engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, observability, accessibility, and performance optimization.
Improve maintainability, availability, performance, architecture, and developer tooling.
Integrate AI technologies to automate processes and enhance product features.
Run A/B or multivariate experiments and use results to guide roadmap decisions.
Mentor junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Marketing, and Data/Analytics partners across teams and locations.
Drive cross-team initiatives that improve the end-to-end GI user journey.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
3+ years of non-internship, full-time professional software development experience.
4+ years of experience with at least one programming language.
4+ years of experience across the full software development life cycle.
Experience delivering large software projects or features in a production environment.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
Experience building and operating product surfaces that integrate across multiple platforms.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineers.
Experience collaborating with product, design, and data/analytics partners to define metrics and interpret results.
Nice-to-haves
Experience with large React Native codebases and modern mobile development tooling.
Strong proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript and React Native.
Experience with TypeScript/Node.js, Go, GraphQL, and backend services.
Experience with AWS services including Lambda, SQS, SNS, and SageMaker.
Experience with client performance tooling, render optimization, DevOps, and application architecture patterns.
Experience developing consumer-facing applications used by millions or billions of users.
Experience working in healthcare, HIPAA, or other regulated environments involving sensitive member data.

Compensation and benefits
Annual base salary: $164,000–$247,000.
Hybrid work based in the San Francisco office, with in-person attendance three days per week.
Remote work is expected during core business hours on remote days.
