Responsibilities
- Independently scope complex, multi-month projects and drive cross-organizational alignment through ambiguous problem spaces.
- Make architectural decisions shaping how Anthropic builds and scales its products.
- Partner directly with research to productize cutting-edge capabilities.
- Build and operate secure execution infrastructure for Claude’s agentic capabilities, including untrusted code execution, web browsing, and computer use.
- Own work from design through deployment and operations.
- Build robust, scalable, and easy-to-use platform solutions for product teams and developers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of practical experience as a backend or platform engineer building scalable distributed systems.
- Experience operating at a tech lead level or equivalent.
- Strong fundamentals in service-oriented architecture, networking, and systems design.
- Experience owning the technical vision and end-to-end execution of foundational platform systems.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, or similar systems languages.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and/or multi-cloud networking.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions independently.
- Product-focused approach to platform engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with distributed systems, cloud-native products, developer tools, or external developer-facing products.
- Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience operating in both zero-to-one and mature team or company environments.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $405,000–$485,000 USD.
