Build and operate Anthropic’s connectivity platform, including MCP proxy infrastructure, OAuth and token management, enterprise controls, and reliability systems. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate core connectivity infrastructure for external tool calls, including the MCP proxy and OAuth and token management systems.
- Own reliability for infrastructure used by internal teams and external partners, including SLOs, on-call, incident response, and postmortems.
- Build enterprise admin controls and permission models for governing agent capabilities.
- Contribute to the MCP standard and ecosystem, including the specification and official Python and TypeScript SDKs.
- Scope complex, multi-month projects and drive cross-organizational alignment through ambiguous problem spaces.
- Make architectural decisions that shape product development and scalability.
- Partner with research teams to productize new capabilities.
- Dogfood, deploy, operate, and iteratively improve platform products.
Requirements
- Experience as a backend or platform engineer.
- Experience operating production distributed systems at scale.
- Understanding of reliability, observability, and incident response.
- Product-focused approach to platform engineering.
- Ability to build robust, scalable, and easy-to-use solutions.
- Full ownership from design through deployment, operations, and iteration.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and make independent technical decisions.
- Experience in both early-stage and mature team or company environments is preferred.
- Excellent communication and consensus-building skills across teams and time zones.
- Familiarity with using AI tools in software development.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: $405,000–$485,000 USD.
