Revenue Accountant

Responsibilities

Billing & Order-to-Cash

• Execute end-to-end billing operations, including invoice generation, collections, cash application, and accounts receivable management.
• Support the full order-to-cash cycle, partnering with Deal Desk to ensure contracts and amendments are accurately reflected in billing systems.
• Reconcile customer credit consumption and prepaid balances across Stripe, CPQ, and the general ledger.
• Maintain accurate customer billing data and develop process documentation for a scalable, well-controlled billing environment.
• Contribute to automating billing workflows using AI and modern tooling.
• Handle customer billing inquiries through the accounts receivable inbox, resolving issues using ticketing and automation tools.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering to resolve billing discrepancies and improve upstream data quality.

Revenue Accounting

• Support revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, with a focus on consumption-based revenue recognition.
• Prepare and maintain deferred and unbilled revenue schedules, ensuring accurate balance sheet presentation each period.
• Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis.
• Support audit readiness and the company's first-year financial audit by preparing schedules and documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Contribute to revenue systems implementations and process design as the financial infrastructure scales.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful exposure to billing operations and revenue accounting.
• Active CPA required.
• Experience automating and streamlining processes through billing or revenue systems implementation, AI tooling, or workflow automation.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and US GAAP revenue principles, including consumption-based revenue models.
• Hands-on experience with billing and payment systems; Stripe experience strongly preferred.
• Data fluency, including comfort working with large datasets and using data to diagnose billing and revenue issues.
• Strong written communication skills.

• Experience with customer support tooling such as Zendesk or Intercom.
• Experience with CPQ and CRM tools.
