AgentMailAgentMail

Agent Experience Engineer

Own how AI models and agents discover, evaluate, and use AgentMail through answer-engine optimization, benchmarks, agent traces, documentation, MCP descriptions, and error-message improvements. The role suits someone who builds with agents, understands retrieval, and publishes technically rigorous research.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Own how AI models and agents discover and use AgentMail.
  • Improve answer-engine presence so AgentMail is recommended for relevant email and agent-identity queries.
  • Measure share of voice on important prompts and improve it.
  • Conduct original research, evaluations, and benchmarks covering frontier models, open-source models, and agent harnesses.
  • Run agents against documentation and the website, analyze agent traces, and fix confusing content or behavior.
  • Maintain the agent-facing surface, including llms.txt, MCP descriptions, documentation structure, and error messages.
  • Steer and verify the automated AEO content pipeline.
  • Brief freelancers and conduct backlink outreach to pages already cited by models.
  • Maintain the weekly AEO briefing and action queue, including freshness debt and competitor monitoring.

Requirements

  • Build with agents daily and understand what makes products easy or difficult for agents to use.
  • Work cross-functionally.
  • Express opinions early and publish honest writeups, including inconvenient results.
  • Investigate complex technical problems deeply, including reading agent traces.
  • Understand retrieval systems and write for models that retrieve chunks rather than complete pages.

Nice to Haves

  • Published technical writing or benchmarks that were cited by others.
  • SEO or AEO experience.
  • Contributions to documentation or MCP servers in the wild.

Compensation

  • $110K–$175K base salary.
  • 0.2%–0.5% equity.
